Happy Mail is designed first and foremost to feel FUN, creative, exciting, and approachable — not like school or formal art lessons. The main goal is to spark creativity and get kids making art confidently at home.

That said, kids will absolutely get little “sprinkles” of both art technique and art history naturally woven in along the way! They may learn new artistic skills, experiment with different materials and styles, or occasionally be inspired by famous artists, themes, or creative concepts — but in a light, playful, kid-friendly way.

So while Happy Mail isn’t a formal art curriculum, there’s definitely lots of learning happening underneath all the fun. 🎨💌

Yes— art is like anything else! The more you practice, the better you get!

So many kids think they’re “not good at art,” but really, they just haven’t built confidence yet. Happy Mail is designed to feel doable, fun, and low-pressure—so kids can try new things and realize… hey, I can actually do this.

And, for the little ones, a little adult help is great - it's so fun to create with parents, aunties, babysitters, nannies, etc.

Yes! Although Happy Mail is not designed for more experienced artists, each project includes ways to “level up,” so kids who want to take it further absolutely can.

It’s designed to meet kids where they are—whether they’re just starting out or already love creating.

Most projects are designed to be done with basic supplies you likely already have at home—like markers, colored pencils, scissors, and glue.

And if you don’t have something? You can always improvise. (Markers instead of paint, etc.)

That said, if you want to create using the same materials we do, we recommend starting with a basic kit.

If they’re younger, meet them where they are — you know what they can (and can’t) do. If they truly need help, absolutely jump in so they can feel successful and proud of what they’ve created. That’s always the goal.

But if they can do something and just don’t really feel like trying… encourage them to give it a shot. That’s where confidence and growth happen.

All that said, I strongly encourage parents to let kids who are capable create independently as much as possible. A lot of parents naturally want to jump in to “help” or quietly fix parts they don’t love, but sometimes that can accidentally send the message that their work isn’t good enough.

The magic is really in the creating — not the perfection. 😊

So help when needed, but otherwise, try to step back, cheer them on, give lots of compliments and reassurance, and let their creativity shine.

This one matters a lot.

Try to focus on encouragement—both the process and the result.

Instead of saying “What is that?” try:
“Tell me about this.”

Instead of judging the final piece (if you don't love it), notice the effort:
“I love how much time you spent on this.”
“I can tell you worked really hard on those details.”

Confidence in art comes from practice, trying, and feeling proud. A little encouragement and excitement go a long way.

I love using display frames to rotate artwork — kids feel SO proud seeing their creations hanging up at home. It really makes them feel like real artists. 😊

Then, when you’re ready to switch pieces out, you can move older artwork into an art portfolio for easy storage and organization. There are some really great ones that come in fun colors and make it simple to keep everything together without piles of artwork taking over your house. (Because let’s be honest… it escalates quickly 😂)

I’ve included both a display frame and an art portfolio in my recommended supplies list. The frame makes it super easy to swap artwork in and out, and the portfolio is perfect for storing and protecting favorite creations over time.

And one little request from me: if your child is proud of their artwork… please don’t throw it away. ❤️ Even simple projects can mean a lot to kids, and feeling valued and celebrated is such a huge part of building creative confidence.

Each Happy Mail is designed for one child.

If you have multiple kids, I recommend ordering one for each so they can fully enjoy the experience (and avoid sibling negotiations 😄).

Yes! I’ve tried to make it as easy and affordable as possible.

Each additional child gets their own envelope, and the price drops from $13 per child to $8 for each additional sibling.

You totally can.

But let’s be honest… that usually means scrolling, searching, gathering supplies, subscribing to different sites, figuring it out, and hoping it works.

Happy Mail takes all of that off your plate. It’s thoughtfully designed, pre-planned, and ready to go—so your child can just sit down and create (and you don’t have to do the behind-the-scenes work).

In addition, all projects are designed by a 15-year art teacher, so we always have kids in mind when choosing our projects.

Yes—you can pause, skip, or cancel anytime if you choose the month-to-month subscription package.

Just make sure to do it before your next billing date so you’re not charged for the upcoming month.

If you purchase a 1-month, 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month package, those are prepaid and non-refundable.

Because everything is planned, prepped, and created in advance, I’m not able to offer refunds once a package has been purchased.

This depends on when you order, but in general:

Order on or before the 28th → receive next month’s Happy Mail
Order after the 28th → start the following month

All Happy Mail ships on the 1st of each month.
